Quick-hit notes from the 49ers' 19-17 victory Saturday over the Seattle Seahawks.

Niners first-round draft pick Aldon Smith dumped Seattle quarterback Tarvaris Jackson in the fourth quarter for Smith’s 14th sack of the season, the second-most by a rookie in NFL history.

Smith needs half a sack in next week’s season finale at St. Louis to match the rookie record of 14.5 sacks recorded by Jeavon Kearse with the Tennessee Titans in 1999.

Smith leads all NFL rookies in sacks and ranks fifth in that category among the league leaders.

“I had high hopes for him coming in, and he’s produced,” 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said. “He’s been great, he’s been sensational. He’s progressing really well.”

--- At 12-3, the Niners notched their first 12-win season since 2001and have an opportunity next week to match their best record since finishing 13-3 in 1997.

--- The 49ers are now 5-2 on the road this season, marking their most road victories in a season since finishing 5-3 on the road in 2002. With a win next week at St. Louis, San Francisco can match its best road record since finishing 6-2 away from home in 1996.

--- The Niners evened the overall series with the Seahawks at 13-13, including 7-7 in Seattle. The Niners swept the season series with the Seahawks for the first time since 2006 and the second time since Seattle joined the NFC West in 2002.

--- Head coach Jim Harbaugh moved within one win of posting the second-best record for a rookie head coach in franchise history. George Seifert went 14-2 in his first season with the 49ers in 1989 and Steve Mariucci coached the Niners to a 13-3 record in his rookie season of 1997.

--- The 49ers have allowed the fewest points in the NFL at 202, and their average of 13.5 points allowed per game is on course to be a new franchise record. The 49ers allowed 13.6 points per game over 14 games in 1976.

--- The San Francisco defense registered one pass defensed against the Seahawks, raising its season total to 97, which ranks second in the NFL behind Baltimore’s 99.

--- Kicker David Akers connected on four field goals on the day, giving him 42 made field goals this season, which sets a new NFL record. The previous mark was held by Arizona kicker Neil Rackers, who made 40 field goals in 2005.

--- Akers also kicked one PAT for 13 points on the day, giving him a career-high 156 points, which extended his franchise scoring record for a single season to 156. Akers is the first players in the NFL to register 150 or more points in a season since running back LaDainian Tomlinson scored 186 pts for the San Diego Chargers in 2006, when he scored 31 touchdowns.

--- The 49ers rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown on 40 carries, which are the most rushing yards allowed by the Seahawks in a game this season. It also was the second-most yards the Niners have rushed for in a game this season behind their 213 yards rushing in Week 5 against Tampa Bay.

--- Running back Frank Gore carried the ball 23 times for 83 yards rushing and registered his eight rushing touchdown of the season. Gore now has 1,202 yards rushing this season, the second-best total of his career to his franchise-best 1,695 yards rushing in 2006.

--- Rookie running back Kendall Hunter set a career-high with 73 rushing yards on 12 carries, raising his season total to 397 rushing yards.

--- Saturday’s victory marked quarterback Alex Smith’s fifth come-from-behind win this season and his fourth on the road. Smith tied Joe Montana for the most fourth-quarter comebacks on the road in franchise history. Montana had four in 1989.

--- Defensive tackle Ray McDonald notched a sack to give him 5.5 for the season, setting a new career high. Linebacker NaVorro Bowman recorded his first career sack.
