The San Francisco 49ers made two more additions to their coaching staff Friday, announcing that Reggie Davis will be the team’s tight ends coach and Peter Hansen will be a defensive assistant and quality control coach.
Both have ties to new Niners head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Davis, 34, who spent the past three years as running backs coach at Oregon State, was on Harbaugh’s staff at the University of San Diego in 2004, working with tight ends and special teams. He was also Harbaugh’s teammate for two seasons (1999-2000) on the San Diego Chargers.
Hansen was a defensive assistant at Stanford the past two years and worked with new 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio on film breakdown, scouting reports and practice preparation.
Hansen also was a strength and conditioning intern at Stanford in 2008. He attended Palo Alto High School, where he played for his father, Earl, the longtime football coach at the school.
